Cinquantième anniversaire du traité de Rome PACTVM ROMANVM QVINQVAGENARIVM EUROP(A)(E) BELGIQUE–BELGIE–BELGIEN.
Tous les pays de la zone euro ont émis le 25 mars 2007 une pièce commémorative de 2 € pour commémorer le 50e anniversaire du traité de Rome.
Le centre de la pièce représente le traité signé par les six États membres fondateurs devant un arrière-plan évoquant le dallage, dessiné par Michel-Ange, de la place du Capitole, à Rome, où le traité a été signé le 25 mars 1957. La traduction du mot «Europe» figure au-dessus du livre. La traduction des mots «Traité de Rome 50 ans» est inscrite au-dessus du dessin. L'année 2007 et le nom du pays émetteur sont inscrits sous le dessin. Les douze étoiles du drapeau européen entourent le dessin sur l'anneau externe de la pièce.
Une exception existe pour le Luxembourg où la loi exige que le portrait du grand duc figure sur toutes les pièces, le portrait de celui ci apparaitra donc en filigrane sur le côté inférieur gauche de pièce. Aux Pays-Bas, une loi similaire exigeant que le chef de l'état (le roi ou la reine) figure sur toutes les pièces, a été amendée pour participer à cette commémoration, cet amendement n'est valable que pour cette émission particulière.
Monaco, Saint-Marin et le Vatican ne font pas partie des pays émetteurs car ils ne sont pas membres de l'Union européenne.
Mars 2007 seulement 5 millions de pièces émises.
Pièce neuve provient de rouleau, jamais circulée UNC, manipulée avec des gants et envoyée dans un sachet plastique sous enveloppe.

2 Euros commemorative coin - Belgium / Koninkrijk België 2007 - new coin UNC.
50th Anniversary of the Signature of the Treaty of Rome PACTVM ROMANVM QVINQVAGENARIVM EUROP(A)(E) BELGIQUE–BELGIE–BELGIEN.
The centre part of the coin shows the treaty signed by the original six member states of the European Coal and Steel Community, on a background symbolising Michelangelo's paving on the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome where the treaty was signed. The translation of EUROPE is inscribed above the book, but within the central design, whereas the translation of TREATY OF ROME 50 YEARS appears above the design. The year mark and the name of the issuing country are inscribed below the design, and the twelve stars of the European Union surround the design on the outer ring of the coin. (The location of the mint mark (and the engraver's initials, if they are shown) differs between the thirteen different versions.)
Due to special laws requiring that every coin bear the incumbent Grand Duke's portrait, the Luxembourgish edition of the common €2 commemorative coin differs slightly from the others in addition to the translated inscriptions, since a latent image of the Grand Duke's portrait was added (as required by national law). A similar Dutch law, which requires the portrait of the current head of state of the Netherlands and the words NAME (Koning/Koningin) der Nederlanden to appear on all coins issued by the Netherlands (for example, currently Beatrix Koningin der Nederlanden) was amended so that the Netherlands could take part in this program; the amendment was only in effect for the issuance of this coin. Furthermore, due to Belgium's special multilingual society, the Belgian coin features the inscription PACTVM ROMANVM QVINQVAGENARIVM in Latin.
The three micro-states which also use the euro due to an official agreement with the European Union (Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican City) did not issue this coin, as they are not member states of the European Union. However, some member states of the European Union which had not yet introduced the euro also took part in this program. For example, Cyprus issued a £1 coin and Hungary a 50 Ft coin with the same design.

El fondo es un diseño inspirado el pavimento de la Plaza del Campidoglio de Roma, diseñado por Miguel Ángel, donde fue firmado el tratado el 25 de marzo de 1957. Debido a que esta moneda la van a emitir todos los Estados de la Eurozona, la marca de la ceca, el idioma y el nombre del país variarán en cada modelo. El anillo exterior de la moneda presentará las doce estrellas de la Unión Europea.

2 euro moneta Commemorativo - Belgio / Belgium / Koninkrijk België 2007 - nuova moneta FDC/UNC.
50° anniversario della firma del Trattato di Roma PACTVM ROMANVM QVINQVAGENARIVM EUROP(A)(E) BELGIQUE–BELGIE–BELGIEN.
La parte centrale della moneta presenta il trattato firmato dai sei membri originari della CECA; sullo sfondo compare il pavimento realizzato da Michelangelo a Piazza del Campidoglio a Roma, dove fu firmato il trattato. Al di sopra del libro compare la scritta EUROPA, mentre al di sotto appare la scritta TRATTATI DI ROMA 50° ANNIVERSARIO; entrambe sono state tradotte in varie lingue, a seconda dello stato dove è stata coniata la moneta. L'anno di conio ed il nome dello stato sono incisi sotto il disegno centrale, mentre le dodici stelle dell'Unione Europea lo contornano sulla corona esterna.
Per via di una serie di leggi speciali nazionali che obbliga il Lussemburgo ad imprimere su ogni moneta coniata il volto del Granduca in carica, la versione lussemburghese presenta in aggiunta, rispetto alle altre, un ologramma che lo raffigura. Nei Paesi Bassi, pur avendo una legge simile a quella lussemburghese sull'obbligo dell'incisione del regnante in carica sulle monete emesse, è stato invece approvato un emendamento speciale (valido solo per questa moneta Commemorativo) che esenta lo stato da quest'obbligo, aderendo così al programma di emissione della moneta. Inoltre, in Belgio, data la varietà di lingue ufficiali, per non generare confusione si è stabilita la traduzione delle iscrizioni della moneta in latino.
I tre microstati aderenti all'euro grazie ad accordi speciali (Principato di Monaco, San Marino e Città del Vaticano) non hanno coniato questa moneta, non essendo queste nazioni appartenenti all'Unione Europea. Di contro, alcuni stati membri che non hanno ancora aderito all'euro, come Cipro e Ungheria, hanno partecipato al programma di emissione, coniando nelle loro valute locali delle monete commemorative simili a questa.
Marzo 2007 solo 5 milioni di pezzi.
